Proof of Process
Built on Provenance: a demonstration that an output derives from a chain of verifiable states, rather than an assertion that somebody ran something. It proves that certain inputs existed, that an identified process was used, that particular intermediate states were produced, and that the output follows from that chain.
The ten layers
Proof of Process is the reading you can take once provenance edges exist. The evidence records underneath it are running; the chaining is not, and so neither is this. It is listed as its own layer because it is what provenance is for, not because it is separately available.
The claim is deliberately narrow and therefore keepable: this output came from that chain of states. Whether the answer is semantically right is a question about the world, not about the record. A system that promised the second would be lying, and the promise would be discovered exactly when it mattered.
A model output an auditor can trace to its inputs and its version. A scientific result reproducible from recorded intermediate states. An automated decision in a regulated process that can be reconstructed years later. In each case the alternative today is a log file whose custodian could have changed it.
Once a process can be demonstrated, an Autonomous Escrow condition can point at it, and a machine can pay another machine for a computation on the evidence that it was performed. That is the join between this layer and the economy above it — and both halves have to exist before either is useful.
